Torre de Moncorvo is a municipality in the district of Bragança in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 8,572,[1] in an area of 531.56 km². The present mayor is Nuno Gonçalves, elected by the PSD. Torre de Moncorvo is also a well-developed and promising mining area. Iron ore is mined at the Mua Mine, opened in 2012. The municipal holiday is March 19. A ruined castle is also located in the center of town.
