Campo Maior (Campomayor in Spanish) is a Portuguese village in the District of Portalegre, Alentejo region and intermunicipal community of Alto Alentejo, with about 8,800 inhabitants. Its economy is based mainly on agriculture (cereals and olive trees) and the coffee industry. It is the seat of a municipality with 247.26 km² of area and 8 387 inhabitants (2001), subdivided into 3 parishes. The municipality limits to the north and the east with Spain, to the southeast with the municipality of Elvas and to the west with Arronches.
