Pombal Portugal

Pombal was founded by Gualdim Pais, Grand Master of the Order of the Templars, based in Tomar, who ordered the construction of his castle The highlight of the town is the Templar Castle Pombal that, regardless of Arunca river located on a rocky massif, had an important and decisive role to defend their region at the time that Portugal established itself as a nation and later in consolidation county. It also has a municipal library, a cultural center, the Museum of Popular Art Portuguese containing about 2,000 handmade pieces from all regions of the country.
