Borba is a municipality in the District of Évora in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 7,333,[1] in an area of 145.19 km². It was elevated from town to city status on 12 June 2009. The municipal holiday is Easter Monday. Located in the Alto Alentejo, in the District of Évora. It is headquarters of a concelho with 145.12 km² of area and 7.782 inhabitants (2001), subdivided into 4 parishes. The municipalities are limited to the northeast by the municipality of Monforte, to the east by Elvas, to the southeast by Vila Viçosa, to the southwest by Redondo) and to the west by Estremoz.
